Hurricane Helene Emergency Propane Operations Info

We have NC Discount Propane customers inside of the counties that are now declared state and federal disaster areas.

If you have a propane-fueled generator currently in use, call or email us (if possible) so we can resupply you as soon as the roads are clear enough for us to get a propane truck to you.  These generators use a lot of propane rapidly and we should start working on a way to reach you with more propane asap.

If you feel your propane tank or propane system may have been damaged in any way, please contact us immediately so we can get you scheduled for safety checks and repairs if needed.

Many propane consumers have heat, hot water, light, a working stove, and electricity when the power is out, thanks to their propane systems.

Massive numbers of NC homes are without power. Many have no cell service nor Internet, and travel is heavily restricted due to flood waters, landslides, washed-out roads, and large trees in the roadways.

We have requested information from our suppliers on how their operations and propane supply chains are being affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We hope to have more information for you soon on how this disaster is impacting propane supplies and deliveries.

At this time, our priority is reaching customers who are depending on their propane fueled standby generators during this crisis.

Please let us know immediately if A.  You have a propane-fueled standby generator in use and would like your tank refilled as soon as we can reach you... or.... B.  You have a standby generator, and you want to be on our NC Discount Propane Emergency List to automatically be scheduled for resupply if your home is in a grid-down disaster area in the future. If you are on our Emergency List, we will do our best to resupply you in an emergency even if you are unable to email or call us.

NC Discount Propane usually only delivers when you request a delivery. We are very strict about this because some other companies deliver when you did not ask them to and this really bothers a lot of people.

However, if you want us to code your account with us to the Emergency List to receive deliveries as soon as we can get a truck to you in a grid-down or other disaster situation in which we may not be able to reach you by phone or email, please let us know.
