Propane Update: NC Discount Propane is in talks with new suppliers after we were forced to pause deliveries due to damage to our savings group caused by bad-faith actions by our outgoing supplier, Amerigas. (Yes, many of you warned us about working with them)
While propane inventories in the markets are very high and growing, we feel it is best that we wait for the Iran conflict and the current spike in energy prices to settle down before inking a new bulk contract for our 600+ propane tank owning clients for the next heating season. We could get you all a new bulk contract right now, but you would not like the prices. So our best strategy is to wait.
Currently, wholesale propane prices are roughly 24% higher than they were this time last year. Propane prices had been headed towards historic lows due to increased production and inventories, but now the war and supply disruptions in the Middle East have forced prices up, and we have the bad news that American propane supplies are now experiencing a large spike in exports.
We appreciate everyone's continued understanding and support for NC Discount Propane, as our clients hold off on their next propane deliveries until we have a new contract in place, hopefully by June or July, or they rely on their backup company for any needed fills until we have a new supplier and bulk contract for 200,000 gallons of propane.
Our propane tank sales are still going strong, and we hope to add more propane appliances for sale to our ncdiscountpropane.com website soon.
We will notify everyone when we have our new bulk contract in place and resume deliveries.
Thank you,
Bill
